What is 'print ready' artwork?

Print ready artwork is a design that has no need for a graphic designer to intervene before manufacturing.

The customer may give drawing concepts or send screenshots of a design they have created using free online design software.

Although these can be great help in the early stages of designing graphics, this artwork can't simply be sent straight to the printer and it would still need to be re-created using professional software.

The artwork needs to be designed to the correct scale, so the graphics / images measure up correctly.

The original file
should always be saved in the filetype Ai, EPS, PDF. These formats are what is called vector formats, which are the formats needed to be printed in the highest quality.

What is a Vector Format?

We may ask you for your logo or graphic elements to be sent in a vector. These are either an Ai, EPS or PDF file.

If your graphics or logo have been professionally designed, you should have been sent them at least one of these file types.

If your graphics in these file types are unattainable, don't exist or in a different file type (either JPG, PNG, or BMP) we can provide our design services re-draw the artwork in the correct format.

Vector artwork is always necessary. It is so that the printers and cutters can read what size to output the graphics.

Vector files
will never decrease in quality no matter how large you scale them.

Think of it like a drawing that can be made bigger or smaller without becoming blurry. Vector files are often used for logos, illustrations, and other graphics that need to be resized without losing their clarity.

When you scale up a non-vectored, the lines around the edges will eventually begin to pixelate. For example:

Non-Vector.

Vector.

Capture.JPG

Important.

You may have only one of these filetypes: JPG, PNG or BMP. These cannot be used.

If you have these formats only
Do not be tempted to use an online converter to convert these files into Ai, EPS or PDF.

You can't turn low resolution or non-vector files into high quality files using free software.(if it was that easy, we would do it ourselves!)
